How do i know if i have antivirus software installed on my system? - The easiest way to tell if you have antivirus software installed on your system is to look in the bottom right of your screen near the systems clock. There is usually a little icon in the "system tray" which shows your antivirus software is working in the background protecting your computer.
Determine if McAfee Security Software is Installed
Some computers may come with McAfee Antivirus or SecurityCenter installed. To determine if your computer has McAfee SecurityCenter currently installed, you can check using any one of the following methods:
  • Check for the McAfee icon icon in your system tray (near system clock).
  • Check the Programs menu.
     
    1. Click Start, All Programs (or Programs), and McAfee.
    2. Check if McAfee Antivirus or SecurityCenter is listed.
  • Check Add/Remove Programs list.
    1. Click the Start button.
    2. Click the Control Panel icon.
      The Control Panel window appears.
    3. Click the Add or Remove Programs category.
      The Add or Remove Programs window appears.
    4. Click the Add or Remove Programs Control Panel icon.
      The Add or Remove Programs list appears.
    5. Scroll through the Currently installed programs list to see if McAfee Antivirus or SecurityCenter is installed.
Determine if Norton Security Software is Installed
Some computers may come with Norton AntiVirus or Norton Internet Security installed. To determine if your computer has either installed, check using one of the following methods:
  • Check for one of the following Norton AntiVirus icons Norton AntiVirus icon or one of the following Norton Internet Security icons Norton Internet Security icon in your system tray (near system clock).
  • Check the Programs menu.
     
    1. Click Start, and then click All Programs (or Programs).
    2. Scroll through the list of programs installed and check if Norton AntiVirus or Norton Internet Security is listed.
  • Check the Add/Remove Programs list.
    1. Click the Start button.
    2. Click the Control Panel icon.
      The Control Panel window appears.
    3. Click the Add or Remove Programs category.
      The Add or Remove Programs window appears.
    4. Click the Add or Remove Programs Control Panel icon.
      The Add or Remove Programs list appears.
    5. Scroll through the Currently installed programs list to check if Norton AntiVirus or Norton Internet Security is installed.
Determine if Trend Micro Security Software is Installed
Some computers may come with Trend Micro Antivirus or PC-cillin Internet Security installed. To determine if your computer has PC-cillin Antivirus or Internet Security currently installed, you can check using any one of the following methods:
  • Check for the Enabled Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security Tray Icon icon in your system tray (near system clock).
  • Check the Programs menu.
    1. Click Start, and then click All Programs (or Programs).
    2. Scroll through the list of programs installed and check if Trend Micro PC-cillin Antivirus or Internet Security is listed.
  • Check the Add/Remove Programs list.
    1. Click the Start button.
    2. Click the Control Panel icon.
      The Control Panel window appears.
    3. Click the Add or Remove Programs category.
      The Add or Remove Programs window appears.
    4. Click the Add or Remove Programs Control Panel icon.
      The Add or Remove Programs list appears.
    5. Scroll through the Currently installed programs list to check if Trend Micro PC-cillin Antivirus or Internet Security is installed.
